Meet Dr. Nasr
Dr. Nasr maintains a full time specialty private practice limited to Implants, Esthetics and Regenerative Periodontics in the New Orleans area of Old Metairie, Louisiana. He has a unique surgical background by being double-specialized in both Periodontics and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Nasr graduated from dental school top of his class in 1983 and has conducted his Masters degree thesis on dental implants in 1988 while specializing in Oral Surgery. He further completed his PhD-level research on dental implants with a second specialty in Periodontics in 1994 at Louisiana State University where he continues as Gratis Faculty for the departments of Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Comprehensive Dentistry. Dr. Nasr has completed nine additional full years of postgraduate dental education in formal university programs over and above the average dental graduate for a total of 15 years of higher education after graduating from high school as a valedictorian. He speaks four languages including English, French, Arabic and Spanish which allows for smoother communication when treating international patients.
Dr. Nasr has several publications in refereed and in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants, Journal of Periodontology, Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology 2000 and the Journal of Oral Implantology among others. While most of his time is devoted to private practice, he has also lectured on Esthetics and Implant Surgery as an invited speaker at both national and international meetings including the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons’ Annual as well as the AAOMS Implant Conference, the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Scandinavian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Academy of Osseointegration which is recognized as the world’s most respected authority on dental implants.
Meet Dr. Sáenz
Dr. Sáenz graduated from dental school in 1994. She received her speciality certificate in Periodontics from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1999. Her studies at LSU followed a year of residency certification in periodontics and implants at New York University. Furthermore, she has graduated with two masters degrees, a Masters of Education in 1999 and a Masters of Science in 2000, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Administration and Leadership in Higher Education in 2006.
Her capabilities and interests in research have been recognized as the winner of the annual award from the Louisiana Chapter of the American Association of Dental Research for her landmark clinical study on esthetic tooth exposure which has been published in the Journal of Dental Research and presented at the International Association of Dental Research. Among her research interests is self-assessment of current knowledge in Periodontology, the topic of her dissertation. She takes pride in devoting so many years in studying dentistry and is fluent in English and Spanish thus providing the best possible experience for patients of various backgrounds.
Dr. Sáenz also serves as Faculty in the Department of Periodontics at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans where she teaches and shares her knowledge with the post-graduate residents in the fields of implants, cosmetics and regenerative procedures.
Dr. Nasr and Dr. Saenz are married and are blessed with twins. They enjoy family time, outdoor activities and traveling. And love calling New Orleans their home!
